Identifies hunger needs and food sources and systematically works to acquire
and distribute food."That none shall go hungry" in Central Virginia.

Children's Museum of Richmond - Annual Kids Carniball (http://www.c-mor.org)
The mission of the Children's Museum Annual Kids Carniball is to provide
a fun, safe, and educational environment to learn, explore and celebrate
the carnival season. The event provides children and families with an
interactive educational experience that stimulates discovery, learning
and understanding of the world around them. The two-evening event is open
to the public, and also invites groups of under-served children from a
variety of organizations throughout the area to attend for free.

Christmas Mother Fund (http://www.salvationarmysouth.org)
The Christmas Mother Fund is a Salvation Army-run program that assists
Richmond area families during the holiday season.

Coordinator/2 Inc. (www.c2adopt.org/Mission_Vision.htm)
The purpose of this organization is to provide comprehensive, culturally
sensitive adoption services and a lifetime of support to children in foster
care, adoptees, birth parents and adoptive parents.

Daily Planet Inc. (www.yourunitedway.org)
Provides food, shelter, employment education, social, mental health and
substance abuse services to chemically dependent adults, mentally ill
adults, homeless adults and low-income urban adults.

The mission of ESI Connections is to assist homeless families and individuals
in metro Richmond by providing emergency and transitional shelter as well
as programs designed to build skills leading to increased self-sufficiency
and to identify resources needed to obtain permanent housing.

Fight SMA (http://www.fightsma.com/)
This is a national organization committed to accelerating a cure for spinal
muscular atrophy (SMA), the number-one inherited killer of children under
two.

Richmond Red Cross for Tsunami Relief (http://greaterrichmond.redcross.org/)
In Galle, Sri Lanka, American Red Cross and Sri Lankan Red Cross workers
distribute much-needed supplies--10-litre water containers, cooking utensils
and hygiene kits--to more than 700 families in two camps in Galle. The
American Red Cross relief effort begins with a $134 million initial phase
to address immediate emergency needs: food, shelter, water and sanitation,
vaccinations for 12 million children and their families, hygiene supplies,
and psychosocial services.
 Rikki's Refuge
(www.rikkisrefuge.org)
Rikki's Refuge is an independent, all species, no-kill sanctuary located
on 330 acres of land in Orange, Virginia. Nearly 260 acres of this land,
which includes streams and beaver ponds, is set aside as a protected area
for native Virginia plants and wildlife. The remaining 70 acres is used
to house and care for companion and farm animals who have been abandoned
or displaced.

Provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety
of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities,
giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate
courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills
and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and
the community.

Susan G. Komen Foundation (www.komen.org)
For more than 20 years, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has
been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support
of innovative research and community-based outreach programs. Working
through a network of U.S. and international affiliates and events like
the Komen Race for the CureŽ, the Komen Foundation is fighting to eradicate
breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by funding research grants
and supporting education, screening and treatment projects in communities
around the world.
